Join the Party!
Austin is world renown for it’s events, festivals and healthy lifestyle however there are many underserved communities in our great city that do not reap the benefits of such events. This is where the Ciclovia fits perfectly! Let’s bring the party to every corner of Austin and ride/ walk in the streets!
During the event we will provide bicycle safety instruction as well healthy cooking demo’s from area non-profits.
In many low-income communities throughout Austin the city has provided bike lanes while community organizations have donated hundreds of bicycles for kids and adults. Although these donations have made bicycling a viable option for hundreds of people in the shortterm, there is often little follow-up support to help residents fix common and inevitable mechanical problems. Ciclovia will empower residents in these communities with the basic safety and bike repair skills and knowledge to live an active healthy lifestyle.
Gearing up for these great Ciclovia events, we are in need of bicycle donations to give away to those who would greatly benefit from them. These bikes will be essential in instilling the amazing benefits of bicycle lifestyle to those who attend our events, and go a long way in developing a positive association with the bike community. If you would like to donate please contact Mercedes Feris at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you so much for your help!

Benefiting the Austin Boys and Girls Club Foundation Downtown Austin – Ann Richards Bridge
Mark your calendar for the 3rd annual Austin Duck Derby. Bring your family and watch 15,000 yellow adopted rubber ducks drop into Lady Bird Lake. Root the duckies on as they race to the finish line, winning exciting prizes for their lucky winners! Simply adopt a duck for $5.00 to enter the race. Festivities will include family fun, music, games from Games2U, food trucks, face painting, and more. And don’t forget to stop by the “Best Dressed Duck” tent and vote for your favorite duck!
Proceeds benefit the Austin Boys and Girls Club Foundation (ABGCF), a nonprofit organization which provides annual college scholarships for outstanding youth from the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area. The mission of ABGCF is to provide on-going support and long-term sustainability for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Austin Area. Your duck adoption is an investment in our most vital natural resources: our children.
